Sunday Afternooon Nap

After eating quite a bit of lemon-iced poppy-seed cake on the sly, Josh decided to take a little Sunday afternoon nap. He's still there sleepin'.

Pinewood Derby...open class!

Kerrigan's Activity Day leader has the kids make pinewood derby cars and race them every year. They aren't such sticklers for the rules which makes it a whole lot more fun. Everyone wins. You can't help but want to be fastest though! KK and I made a rather speedy bathtub with a little rubber ducky driver...must have been pretty heavy -- oops!

Something Clicked!

Today was a great day on the slopes! I've been watching Lily at ski lessons and to be honest I had thought we tried to get her started early. But something clicked today and she got it! At the beginning of the day she seemed like she could barely stand up! This is what she was like when we wrapped up. She was lovin' it. It was great to be there with her.

Blue Hubbard

Sis. Turman gave us this huge Blue Hubbard squash. Quite frankly, it's so big we're just not sure how to start with this thing. The other day I set it on the table and asked Josh what we should do with it. He said, "I know!", ran upstairs and came down with his toy tool box. He said, "I can fix it!" and proceeded to hammer away.

It's still not fixed. Does anyone have any good ideas for this ginormous squash?

Ski Lessons

Lily started ski lessons last week. I was amazed that we could find boots to fit her little feet! She had a blast!

My favorite animal

I was backing up files and ran across this clip. It was just too good...so I thought I'd share. I took this at the national zoo in D.C. when we visited Gran and Papa Nik last Summer.

"My Fancy!"
