Pioneer Trek

We went on a pioneer trek last week. 4 days, 3 nights of handcart pulling and camping near Dillon. Before I went I thought it would be good -- but now that I'm back I have to say it was great. One of the best things I've ever done. One of the best parts? Getting to know Darby, Derick, Josiah, Tyler, Kelsi and Travis -- and spending four days with Leigh Anne!

Our Trail Boss.

Kelsi was always ready to help.

This was our 'Martin's Cove' location

I don't think the slingshot ever left Josiah's hand...he probably slept with it!

Bro. Lundell always led the way.

A little line, a hook and whatever was under a nearby rock hooked us a little extra dinner.

Pioneer sunscreen.

Great scenes everywhere...definitely where the antelope roam.

Great to have musical talent along the way.

I mostly just tried to slow these guys down. Mustangs.

We did get our fair share or rain -- and wind!

Pony express letters at sunset. Great way to end the day.

Kasey!

Kasey came and watched Kerrigan, Lily and Joshua while we were on our pioneer trek. They LOVED having her visit! She

is going home tomorrow and we'll all be sad. Can't wait til she comes back!

Bikes, Trains and Tricycles!

Lily is learning to ride a bike. She loves it. So much swerving it drives me crazy!

Josh LOVES trains! He wanted to stay on this one forever it seemed.

And then there's the tricycle...I tried to get him on the bike but he's all about the tricyle still.

Little Bear is Back!

We went with Lisa to Glacier -- and saw Little Bear while we were there!

Amazingly, nobody got wet...

Bowman Lake.

Leigh Anne challenged me to make it out there and...

Twin Tree Huggers

Avalanche Creek

Best thing about our trip? Lisa! We just can't get enough. We already want her to come back!

Cuties!

Lily's 6th Birthday!

We celebrated Lily's 6th birthday today. It was just a bit early since her birthday is on July 5th - but what better present than to celebrate your birthday with Aunt Lisa!?!

Lisa is here!

It's great to have Lisa here -- the kids love it, Leigh Anne loves it and I love it too. Here's a few pictures of us playing at Bass Creek.

Garnett Ghost Town!

We went up to Garnett Ghost Town on Saturday -- it was awesome! We'll definitely go back. The kids had a blast. There was so much to explore that we just couldn't finish it all. We went on Garnett Day's as well -- games for the children, free homeade ice cream, lots of people to talk to and learn about the area, etc. I had no idea such a great place was so close to town.

Lots and lots of buildings to explore.

Josh was glad to have found this one...

This brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "Family style".

Josh and Lily could have played in this kitchen for hours!

Ouch!

My camera took a fall yesterday. I heard a sickening crunch when it hit the concrete! Amazingly, this cheap UV filter I had on the lens was all that was broken! I'm off to take more pictures today...and to buy a new UV filter!

Football!

Lately Josh loves to play football...which is really just tossing this little one back and forth and running after it a lot -- but he loves it!

I was going to take a picture of the latest scary haircut I gave him. He actually asked me to cut his hair -- and since he won't let anybody do this I figured I'd give it a try again. Big mistake. You'd think I would have learned the first time. It will grow back.

Bass Creek

We explored Bass Creek today -- it's a sweet spot! With the Spring runoff it's roaring. We'll have to come back and play when it's a tame, slow creek.

Fashion Earings

Lily stepped out with these whopper hoops attached with masking tape clasps....gotta love it!

Parenting Moment

I ran across this old photo and it just made me laugh! If you've been there then you know what I mean.

Holland Lake

We went up camping at Holland Lake last weekend. What a sweet spot. We also got to try out the new canoe. We'll be going back to this place -- too nice.

The chipmunks were persistent...and eventually did get a bit of Lily's sandwich!

The deer didn't seem to mind if we were close as long as we were coasting in the canoe.

This was a pit-stop on the trail. Josh was a trooper and only needed to be carried a bit of the way.

Lily just loves the camera.

The trail was a little dicey for a bit but everyone was up for the challenge!

Look Who has been visiting...
